Hi job seeker, you are so amazing!

Sharing experiences of finding a job as a fresh graduate!

For most people, finding a job is something that is so difficult. Especially in our country, Indonesia. There are so many processes that must be gone through. From CV screening, taking a series of tests, to interviews from HR to users. Not to mention having to take training for a certain period of time.

Maybe for those who already have work experience, it's not something new, because they have gone through a series of stages. But what about fresh graduates? They must be surprised by this, because they would never have imagined before, how complicated the job search process is.

Here are some tips that I can share with you, fresh graduates!

Provide impactful CV content

1. Make sure your CV is complete and detailed. Complete does not mean that all your biodata to favorite foods and others are listed. However, full name, there are contacts that can be contacted, and data that is considered necessary for recruiters to know

2. Create a self-profile that displays high selling points. The self-profile in question is what university you graduated from, what major, and the skills you have and the results you have created from the skills you have.

3. Show your work experience if you have any, for example, having an internship or having freelance work that supports your educational background. You can add a short story about the job description, tools used and the results of the work.

4. Show your organizational experience that you have joined. Organizations are one of the selling points to strengthen yourself to be recruited. Make sure the organization you choose is impactful and provides added value for you. For example, an organization that reflects that you have leadership, or skills in processing data or finance, or building relationships with the community, and others. Organizations are a measure of your experience in socializing and adapting easily, which may be needed in the work environment.

5. Show your certificates. Prioritize certificates that are related to your educational background. Certificates can be in the form of activities from campus or from outside campus. If there is a training certification or webinar related to your education, you can include it on your CV, as an added value.

Try various job search platforms

1. Online Platform

There are many job search websites that are currently circulating in society. You can find out about these platforms. Before registering your personal data, make sure the platform is trusted and offers many choices of companies that match your educational background. Some examples of online platforms such as:

Jobstreet, JobsDB, Glints and others.

2. Onsite Platform

The onsite platform in question is a job fair event, job hunter and the like. This event is often held by universities when approaching student graduation, with the aim that university graduates can gain experience in finding jobs and facilitate graduates or the general public to get jobs that match their background or interests. This event is also sometimes held by government agencies or an organization.

The onsite platform can also be in the form of submitting a CV and the necessary physical files to the company directly. This situation is done if you get information or notification directly from the company that is opening a job vacancy, so that job seekers can immediately find out the requirements, job description and files needed

Failing once does not mean you will not succeed!

Sometimes, fresh graduates are discouraged and feel like failures when they feel that the job they applied for is not successful or fails to become an employee. Feeling insecure about yourself and the skills you have.

I've been at this point, but I always try to apply for jobs. Both online and onsite platforms. There are more than 100 CVs that I have distributed and almost every month I have to travel from Bandung to Jakarta, just for a test or interview. This means that there is more money spent just to follow 1 recruitment process.

However, there are no results that lie about effort. The effort that is put in will produce results in time and according to what you expect. Fail once, try again and again!

Ora Et Labora

A sentence in Latin that means pray and work. Every maximum effort that you have made to find a job, don't forget to include the process through prayer. Prayer is a strength to enable us to face all conditions. When we are accepted for a job, then we give thanks. However, when we have not been accepted, then we are not discouraged but optimistic that there will be something more beautiful in the future.

Keep up the spirit, and always give your best in every endeavor.

Good luck job seeker!
